Black Forest Cafe, Highgate Hill

A delicious and authentic German dinner, complete with live music marked this traditional German feast accompanied by German wine and beer.
The author's roast duck was every bit as yummy as it looks in the accompanying photo. Desserts (for those that still had room after the satisfying mains) finished off the evening on a sweet note. Offerings ranged from Black Forest Cake, Apple strudel to crepes with a lovely filling of honey, banana and walnut. Add good company to the mix, and it is no surprise that lots of fun was had by all.

Camping Australia Day 2008

What a camping trip, a great fire, great horses, great people, great fun.

Day 1 Friday
Arriving on the Friday, Harry and myself were greeted by the cattle on this working farm in the Numinbar property behind the gold coast.
After setting up, we stoked up our campfire, cooked dinner and a glass of wine was had.
Marcus arrived at around 8pm, setting up a tent in the dark is always a challange but he
handled the problem like he was an expert

Day 2 Saturday
Waiting for the ladies to arrive, Della & Kerrie. Kerries, excel managed to navigate the bumpy track down to the campsite. Next the to river amongst high grass. Needless to say they settled in great.

Day 3 Sunday
A trip to the Natural Arch in the Springbrook national park for lunch, with some day visitors.
Afterwards, the brave ones decided to take a ride (on the wildside), our horses were named Bundy & Gracy. (Luckly Bundy didn't have any, and the ride was stable).
After Billy tea & Damper, we returned back to camp for a well earned glass of wine and a relax around our rip roaring fire. (Thanks to the pyromaniacs). As we started to burn logs, washed down the creek after the recent floods.

Day 4 Monday
Where did the weekend go?
A perfect camping trip, perfect weather, perfect wine, perfect company just a perfect weekend.

Thanks Harry, Marcus, Della & Kerrie for making it so.

Here's cheers (Ka ching)

Andrew.
