August events program coming soon! ******** Events for Young Professionals is a social network and social club for single professionals. We are not a singles club. We operate throughout the Brisbane area, including the North side, South side and the Western suburbs, including people from the North Coast, South Coast and Ipswich. We have a wide range of activities: During the year we visit many restaurants to sample their food and wine. They include such excellent venues as Thai Orchid Restaurant at Milton. Also Wang Dynasty, Ahmet’s Turkish Feast and Kapsali Greek Taverna at South Bank. We eat Vietnamese and other Asian food at West End. Our food, dining and dinner venues include brunch, cafes, coffee clubs and cocktails at well-known bars. Some of us prefer Thai food or Indian Food while others prefer a table piled high with Turkish food. Please always RSVP for these events. Our weekend trips away from Brisbane are legendary: 25 of us spent Easter 2008 at The Noosa Islander Resort. Other weekend trips have been to Byron Bay for surfing and Bundaberg to see the turtles. We have camped in countless beautiful places within the area bounded by the Snowy Mountains and Northern New South Wales in the South, Bundaberg in the North, Frazer Island and North Stradbroke in the East and Girraween and the Bunya Mountains to the West. There’s an activity to suit everyone: Our professional singles include office workers and counsellors who are at home playing board games at a barbecue or playing beach volleyball at West End. The more outgoing ones hold a party, go to watch stand-up comedy at the Paddington Hotel or attend singles events such speed dating. Professional men & women and scientists find drinks, a dinner date or singles dinners a welcome change from an evening spent at home. We might be generically named “Social Club Brisbane”. Some quieter people prefer holding a BBQ or visiting various art galleries such as GOMA. Others walk, visit a museum, compete in a trivia night, join a book club, go to a movie or attend a meditation class. For those who prefer more active pursuits, there is always a dance or listening to jazz at the Brisbane Jazz Club. For the very sporty types there’s rock climbing at Kangaroo Point or indoor rock climbing in Fortitude Valley. I you want to search singles, meet single people, meet people or find people to date, then the most natural way to make this happen is to join in activities that suit your own temperament. Academics wishing to make new friends have played tennis at St. Lucia Tennis Club and Petanque in New Farm Park. One of our accountants wanting to meet a partner started a relationship after meeting a friend who was ten-pin bowling at Clayfield Lanes and later attended a singles dinner at Bardon. We have computer people who play golf at Indooroopilly or join in other group events such as social cycling in Teneriffe. Two local singles started dating after two of our social dinners and a camping and canoeing trip to Elanda Point and Lake Catharaba. Kayaking, moonlight walks and a campfire make a very romantic rendezvous. Many of our solicitors, teachers and health professionals are outdoor types. They prefer a bike ride, bushwalking or walking on a mid-week evening near the City to stay fit. White’s Hill Park is very popular. Other Brisbane singles such as charity workers and occupational therapists who are looking for a Brisbane social club for singles or a club or association where they can meet singles for introductions or dating prefer more active pastimes like horse riding, dancing, walking or a bushwalk.
